Employee satisfaction definition is a term that is used to describe if employees are happy and fulfilling their desires and needs at work. The crucial factor with employee satisfaction is that satisfied employees must do the job and make the contributions that the employer needs.
Employee satisfaction is a wider term that is used by the Human Capital industry to describe how satisfied or content employees are with elements like their jobs, their employee experience, and the organizations they work for. Employee satisfaction is one key metric that can help determine the overall pulse of an organization, which is why many organizations employ regular surveys to measure employee satisfaction and track satisfaction trends over time. A high satisfaction level shows that employees are happy with how their employer treats them
Often, the term employee satisfaction is used interchangeably with employee engagement; however, while engagement is one-factor influencing overall satisfaction (and it may be said the reverse is also somewhat true), the two are not the same.

Employee satisfaction plays a major role in reducing the employee turnover of the company. Satisfied employees are happy with their job and are less likely to leave their jobs.
Employee turnover, directly or indirectly, bears huge cost to the company . The whole hiring and training process costs a lot, making it all the more reason for companies to reduce employee turnover.
Increased Revenues
A satisfied employee works much harder and passionately for the company. It increases their overall productivity in the workplace, which eventually helps bring in more revenues for the Company.
Satisfied employees feel passionate about their jobs and work without any compulsion.
Improved Productivity
Job satisfaction in employees leads to higher productivity in their jobs.
An economic study at the University of Warwick revealed that happiness has a direct relation with productivity.
Many tests were administered, and it was revealed that happiness increases employee productivity by about 12%.
Long-term growth of Company
If an employee feels satisfied in a company, that is only when they would be able to commit fully to that Company. Satisfaction leads to loyalty which leads to the dedication to work on achieving the long-term goals of the Company.

Learning what employees want can help you make changes to boost job satisfaction. Use surveys and interviews to ask employees what resources, tools and benefits matter most to them. Use this data to design programs and initiatives that exceed employee expectations.

If employees express discontent with their pay and benefits packages, consider reviewing pay structures with executives and interested parties to determine how you can make these options more appealing. It's important to ensure you offer competitive pay and give employees opportunities to earn enough to support themselves, so research and revise your pay and benefits structures accordingly.4. Enhance job security
